I understand you did a charity concert with Duran Duran for Prince Charles and Lady Diana last year. It was written somewhere that Princess Diana has said we were her favourite band. I mean there were a lot of Duran Duran fans, which aren’t quite the same calibre as Dire Straits fans. Did you ever get around to playing at the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris?Especially if the member you were hoping to replace was the band leader’s younger brother! I mean I had their first album and I knew it was good–I liked Mark’s playing. We were just asked if we wanted to do the show, and were thrilled to do it. I heard that you were invited to take part in an annual arts festival there. Well I had the feeling we were supposed to do it outside. The Eagles won numerous Grammy Awards during the 1970s and became one of the world's most successful rock bands of all time. The band broke up in 1980, following a difficult tour and personal tensions that arose during the recording of The Long Run.He has released five studio albums, two compilation albums, and one live DVD.His solo hits include "Dirty Laundry", "The Boys of Summer", "All She Wants to Do Is Dance", "The Heart of the Matter", "The Last Worthless Evening", "Sunset Grill", "Not Enough Love in the World", and "The End of the Innocence". They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and are the biggest selling American band in history. And if the band ever did some outside material it wouldn’t sound like Dire Straits.Donald Hugh Henley (born July 22, 1947) is an American singer-songwriter, producer, and drummer, best known as a founding member of the Eagles before launching a successful solo career.
