Gpupdate /force (Figure B)Figure BThis command will force the client to check with the domain controller to apply the most recent GPOs available that are assigned to the workstation.By executing the command with the /force argument, the default 30-minute query for updated GPOs is ignored, and the computer checks with the domain controller to apply available settings changes immediately.this should work mate and ifit doesnt then run the command and see what the error says (Right click user Config, check the error tab to see why it failed.).
The command was instrumental in helping me figure this out.Causes the next foreground policy application to be done synchronously.Foreground policy applications occur at computer boot and user logon.Refreshes the local computers policy and any Active Directory-based Group policies. When the time limit is exceeded, the command prompt returns, but policy processing continues. The gpupdate command is an external command and is available in the below Microsoft operating systems as Causes a logoff after the Group Policy settings have been refreshed, which is required for those Group Policy client-side extensions that do not process policy on a background refresh cycle but do process policy when a user logs on.I forgot to mention in the beginning that I was mapping to another machine that we had all of our backup information on, on which the users of the domain did not have credentials. When I ran the rsop on a profile that was unable to map the drives, it told me it didn't have the right password.I am utterly lost on this matter and have been trying for a solid week, in between petty user problems. Ok so just to double check, you created the GPO where the users are in the OU?I also check to make sure you created a user policy and not a computer policy.Windows XP Windows Vista Windows 7 Windows 8 Windows 10 GPUpdate [/Target:] [/Force] [/Wait: Sets the number of seconds to wait for policy processing to finish. Examples include user-targeted Software Installation and Folder Redirection. This option has no effect if there are no extensions called that require a logoff.
